Rouje
Our inspiration for this post came from the launch of Rouje, our favorite French girl’s new line of incredibly perfect clothing. The founder is Jeanne Damas, model/Parisian It Girl, who we first discovered in the midst of a particularly successful Instagram rabbit hole and who has since become a minor obsession. She is the epitome of French style- sexy without trying, cool without caring, and put together without feeling overdone.
Needless to say, when we found out she was designing her own line of clothes, our expectations were super high. But she delivered, and then some. Her line perfectly encompasses the, well, “je ne sais quoi” aspect of her style and makes us feel like becoming a mini Jeanne is only a few clicks away.
Rouje Jumpsuit
This might be the cutest, most wearable jumpsuit we’ve ever seen. It is the ideal, throw on and go piece with strappy sandals or even white sneakers on the weekend, but also makes for a killer party look with heels and a statement cuff or earring.
Rouje Blouse
This is the perfect summer blouse! Pair it with vintage denim and espadrilles, or with cut-off shorts and flat sandals. It’s equal parts sexy and playful, or in other words, the blouse incarnation of “girls want to be her, guys want to be with her.”
Rouje Blazer
We are forever on the hunt for a great blazer, and we might have just found it in this Rouje version. It’s a little bit longer than average, which is what gives it that relaxed, French-cool vibe that we love. It would be so easy for the office with a slim trouser and silk blouse but also makes for a fab night-out topper over a mini dress or skirt.
Sézane
Now that we’ve got you in that dreamy French mindset, here’s another incredible line that we can’t get enough of. Sézane, the first French brand to exist entirely online, is our e-tail dream experience come true. The site covers everything from tops and dresses to shoes and bags, and they are all impeccably designed, beautifully crafted, and affordably priced. The chic photographs alone are enough to inspire a complete wardrobe overhaul.
Sézane Blouse
This is the kind of blouse we wish we had 20 of. With it’s bright, happy floral print, it’s unique crossbody buttons, and it’s slouchy but still flattering cut, it would do wonders for our wardrobes. Try it with any denim, including a tailored denim mini, or with work trousers and flats.
Sézane Jumpsuit
Hi, new party outfit! We’d wear this to every event of the summer, and on the days in between. Have you ever seen a prettier shade of red?
Sézane Dress
This is the only dress we’ll be needing this summer. It’s relaxed, cool, and flirty all at once- pair it with neutral espadrille wedges or black strappy sandals.
IRO
IRO is a brand we’ve known about a little bit longer, but we continue to appreciate it more and more each season. It’s a little more rocker-chic, boho than Sezane and Rouje (which both interpret French style in a more classic way), so it really rounds out all of our style needs. If you like Isabel Marant, you’ll love IRO.
IRO Jacket
Most of IRO’s items are solid colors in more understated palettes, but they typically do at least a few prints each season, and you can see why. This jacket seems like a wild investment, but we can see this adding a punch to everything from simple jeans and tees to LBDS.
IRO Dress
We usually don’t think of hot pink when we think of French style, but the relaxed, drop waist silhouette of this dress is changing our minds. There’s something so fresh, fun and stylish about this little number- we see it with neutral, lace-up sandals (laced up the past the ankles!) and a woven clutch.
IRO Trousers
Every French girl needs a pair of cool black trousers. We’re crazy about this particular pair- the tie waist, the slightly slouchy fit, and the cropped ankle length make them ideal for pairing with ankle boots, demure pumps, white sneakers, or strappy sandals.
