How To Wear Embroidered Patches

In case you didn’t know, retro fashion is back! And this means things like denim jean jackets, big hair, and embroidered patches are now bang on trend. They’re no longer limited to sports teams or bands anymore, with more and more people hopping on the patch train and customizing their own clothing. So, if you’re wanting to give your style an injection of personality, keep reading and find out how you can wear embroidered patches.

Denim Jackets

One of the most common ways that people wear embroidered patches is on their denim jackets. This classic style calls back to the 80s and with the revival of this era that’s going on right now, it’s safe to say that this placement is going to be more popular than ever. Whether you want to plaster the back and sleeves in your favourite patches or you want a simple look of a couple on the front, adding these cool little accessories to your denim can really spruce it up. They can take a denim jacket from something plain and ordinary to a fashionable jacket that makes a statement. So, if you’re bored of your denim jackets, why not add some funky patches to them and give them a new lease of life.

T-Shirt Pockets

Sometimes there’s nothing better than a simple t-shirt, but there are moments where they can feel a little too plain for your outfit. To combat your t-shirt blues, why not add an embroidered patch to the front either on the pocket or where one should be. This creates a whole new t-shirt and gives it a completely different look. Instead of being an ordinary white t-shirt, you’ve now got a unique, on trend top that will be the envy of all your friends.

Denim Jeans

Another form of denim that can be jazzed up with embroidered patches is jeans. Patches can work really well on the back pockets as a little extra something and really tie your whole look together. If you really wanted to go all out, you could try making a patter of them down the front of crafting a patch-work type look. With embroidered patches on your jeans, you’ll definitely have a pair like no one else! So, instead of throwing away a pair of faded jeans, why not try adding some patches and seeing if you can’t get a few more years of wear out of them.

Blazers

Embroidered patches can also be extremely chic too, especially if you apply them onto a blazer. Popping fashionable patches onto the lapel or breast pocket can give them a fancy feel that enhances your clean style. You don’t have to plaster the blazer in patches, but if you really want to stand out from the crowd, you could place them all over the lapels or even have a giant one on the back. So don’t be so hasty to throw out your simple black blazer and see if you can get crafty with embroidered patches to bring it back to life.

Beanies

You don’t have to stick to clothes when it comes to embroidered patches either. Beanies are the perfect hat for them to be added to and they can really bring something extra to the entire outfit. Why not emblazon your favourite band’s logo on the front of your beanie or perhaps you want to go for something more political instead. Patches are a fantastic way to let your personality shine and can give people a taste of what you like without them even having to speak to you.

Canvas Sneakers

As well as beanies, embroidered patches can be a brilliant addition to canvas sneakers! You could create a nautical look with white sneakers and patches depicting anchors, mermaids, and ships, or you could go for something punkier and pop patches of barbed wire, skulls, and daggers to give them an old-school tattoo feel. You could even go extremely cutesy and style them with patches of unicorns, flowers, and hearts to craft the sneaker of your glittery dreams. Embroidered patches can take you boring pair of sneakers and turn them into something that’s complete unique to you. Why not give them a go and see if you can’t style your sneakers into something new.

Tote Bags

Another fun accessory you can use embroidered patches on it tote bags. They’re made of the perfect material to work well with their application, so you can really go to work on them. If you’ve always wanted a tote bag that has cactuses and llamas on it but haven’t been able to find one, then you can use patches to make your very own instead. You don’t have to rely on your dream tote bag existing when you can just design it yourself. If you’re bored of your plain tote bag, why not shop around for some cute patches and spruce it up! You’ll soon find yourself carrying it around everywhere to show off your handiwork!

The possibilities with embroidered patches are endless! They can be placed on any item of clothing or accessory that you wish and help you create a style that is uniquely yours. You can easily apply them too, making them the perfect DIY project. Most of the time you iron them on, so as long as you have one of those, you’re good to go. Why not bring some fun to your wardrobe this year and follow along with the latest trend? Your embroidered patches will last you a lifetime and ensure that your style is one that’s truly yours.
