Let’s face it; you spend far too much time in your kitchen not to absolutely love the space. If it’s time to give your kitchen a facelift, read on to learn three of my best tips to update your kitchen on a budget.
Add a Coffee Bar
This one is a no-brainer if you love coffee as much as I do. Many homes have a little nook or unused space in their kitchen. I turned mine into a little coffee bar! You can make this as simple or as elaborate as you’d like. Some people just have a coffee pot and a cute selection of mugs.
I love my fancy coffees, so I have a home espresso machine, milk steamer, coffee grinder, and a few different syrup flavors on my coffee bar. Making my coffee at home saves money, and reusing the glass containers I bought for this purpose is more sustainable!
Change Up the Lighting
You’d be surprised how much new lighting can change the look of your space. Outdated light fixtures can make your kitchen look dingy or dark. Adding a new light fixture can create a new focal point in the room and give your kitchen a homey, inviting feel.
Spruce Up Your Cabinets
Your cabinets take up a lot of visual space. If you don’t love them, it might be time to freshen them up. Replacing your cabinetry isn’t necessary; simply applying a fresh coat of paint can give your cabinets new life.
Of course, you can choose your perfect new paint shade at your hardware store of choice. However, check out their ‘oops’ paint section for a bigger discount. This section houses all the mistakenly mixed paints. If you find a shade you love here, you’ll get it for a fraction of the usual price!
Once you’ve painted your cabinets, choose new cabinet pulls to match. Sometimes, you can thrift or repurpose these, though you may need to buy a new set if you have a very clear idea of what you’d like.
Updating your kitchen on a budget shouldn’t be a hassle! With these tips, you’ll have a refreshed kitchen in no time.
