It can get chaotic when preparing for a wedding day. There are a lot of things to consider ranging from the logistical needs to finances. Though, taking care of yourself as the bride should also be a priority. This does not only mean choosing the perfect wedding dress for your body type but also holistically improving your well-being. One of the ways to do this is through practicing pre-bridal yoga workouts which could work wonders for your physical and mental health. These could help equip your body to face the possible stress it can come across on the wedding day and get you in shape.

It is important that you get to calm your nerves so you would not drain your energy before the excitement reaches you. Pre-bridal yoga can allow you to enjoy the process, priming your body and mind for what is to come. You can check out yoga influencers on the workouts that would work best for you but you may also follow some of the suggestions below which also shows their respective benefits. Doing these can surely enhance your appearance and well-being on your special day.

  1. Relaxes you. This is probably the most obvious benefit that yoga can bring to you as it can help you acquire the right mindset for your wedding day. You can try the resting pose or savasana which is recommended to do at the last part of your routine. Simply lie down flat on your back and find comfort with natural breathing. You may do this for five minutes or so before slightly moving your toes and fingers. Afterward, bring your knees to your chest and roll to one side then proceed to a seating position. This pose is a good way to let loose, allowing your mind and body to fully relax. Plus, this is known to help reduce fatigue and headaches which you would most likely experience on the d-day.

Another pose that you can try is the legs-up-on-the-wall pose where you need to sit with your left side against the wall before slowly turning right to lift your legs against the wall. Keep your sitting bones near the wall while your back flat on the floor for 15 minutes or less.

  1. Strengthens the body and improves flexibility. You would want to tone your arms and legs while also strengthening your core muscles to gracefully carry yourself. Since this would prompt you to exert more energy, this could also help you lose weight as necessary. A pre-bridal yoga pose that you can try to achieve this is the downward facing dog which could be difficult for starters. It will activate your whole body by starting with a plank pose on the ground and then pushing your back to form an inverted V. Remember to firmly plan your hands and feet on the ground while keeping your shoulder blades rolled down your back. Continue to press down until your heels reach the ground completely. This essentially boosts circulation and helps your body do away from stiffness.

Meanwhile, an easier pose to try is the tree pose which also allows you to build strength and warm up your muscles. You would only need to balance on a single foot with your other futon your calf or above the knee at a right angle. Try to maintain this for one minute.

  1. Energizes and brightens your mood. With thoughts of entering a new phase of your life and all the preparations that must be completed efficiently, it is natural to feel anxious before the wedding. You would certainly need more positive energy that can boost your enthusiasm and alertness. One of the ways to do this is by making the bridge pose where you also lie flat on your back while bending your knees. This would place your feet firmly on the ground while your hips width apart. Then, make your hands graze your heels while gently lifting your back and pressing your feet. Press down your arms to lift your chest and try to engage your legs and butt so your can lift your hips higher.

The said pose will stretch your back and legs while strengthening your spine and stimulating the nervous system. You may also want to try the corpse pose where you would lie down with your limbs stretched out from the body while your palms are facing up. Do breathing exercises to clear your mind as you hold this for around 5 to 15 minutes.

These are only some of the reasons why you should do pre-bridal yoga. It would certainly help your overall well-being if you get to make yoga a habit as it reduces stress and body inflammation. Moreover, it can help make your heart healthier and your mind more active. May you achieve your personal bridal goals before your wedding with the help of these poses. Best wishes!
