What You Should Know About CBD And CBG?

CBD, widely used as a wellness supplement, is a famous cannabis-extracted compound. This cannabinoid has become mainstream due to its potential to offer multiple benefits without any psychoactive effects. However, Cannabigerol (CBG) is another non-psychoactive cannabinoid that is getting popular for its incredible wellness benefits.

Most cannabis genetics only contain 1% of CBG, which means this cannabinoid occurs in trace amounts. The cannabinoid is garnering the attention of both consumers and health professionals alike.

If you are looking for natural wellness support, a blend of CBD and CBG can offer you numerous beneficial effects. The following lines shed light on what CBG is, what CBG vs CBD differences are, and what its benefits are to help you make an informed decision.

What is CBG?

Cannabinoids refer to substances that can interact with cannabinoid receptors of the body. There are two cannabinoid receptors – CB1 and CB2, which are part of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This system regulates various normal functions, including pain, sleep, and mood.

The cannabis plant contains hundreds of biologically active substances, mostly plant-based cannabinoids. The two most famous cannabinoids are Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

In addition to CBD and THC, numerous other cannabinoids, all derived from the parent cannabinoid called cannabigerol acid (CBGA), also exist. CBG is a non-acidic form of CBGA, and it gets converted to other compounds with time and heat.

CBG cannabinoid occurs in minuscule amounts naturally in the cannabis plant.

Differences between CBD and CBG

CBD and CBG are non-psychoactive compounds, and you would not feel intoxicated after taking them. According to a 2018 study, both cannabinoids interact with the same receptors in the body and offer similar effects.

Though CBD and CBG offer similar wellness properties, they do have some differences. The main difference between CBD and CBG is their percentage in the cannabis plant. CBD is a major compound, while CBG is a minor cannabinoid.

Moreover, they are unique in how they activate various receptors. CBG and CBD interact with 5-HT1A serotonin receptors differently

They also differ in the way they stimulate appetite. A study conducted on rats found that CBG has increased their food intake. But another study involving CBD concluded it significantly reduces total food intake. The other difference between them is the volume of the research. A decent amount of research is available on CBD, but not so much on CBG.

CBG Benefits

The research into the benefits of CBG is limited, but the existing scientific evidence suggests it offers multiple benefits.

CBG works by binding to both CB1 and CB2 receptors, where it promotes the function of anandamide. It is a neurotransmitter that enhances motivation and pleasure, regulates appetite and sleep, and alleviates several discomforts.

The research studies conducted on animals demonstrate numerous therapeutic benefits of CBG. However, more research is required to confirm those effects in humans.

CBD and CBG together

As mentioned earlier, both cannabinoids have some similar and few distinctive effects. When combined, they enhance each other’s effects due to a mechanism called the entourage effect. This synergetic reaction results in both cannabinoids offering maximum benefits. Some manufacturers add terpenes with CBD and CBG to strengthen their effects. When in doubt about which one you need, just visit a  marijuana dispensary and see on-site the rich choice of all-things marijuana, and accessories too.

Final Thoughts

CBG and CBD are two cannabinoids found naturally in the cannabis plant. Both boast similarities as well as distinctive properties. CBD is a famous wellness supplement, while CBG is slowly getting popular.

Though CBG naturally occurs in trace amounts and is derived from young plants containing a higher amount of CBG than mature plants. Some cannabis strains possess a higher concentration of CBG.

The combination of CBD and CBG offers potent effects due to their synergetic combination. To enjoy the maximum benefits of these cannabis-extracted cannabinoids, you should purchase them from reputed sellers, such as CBDfx. They use organic material, innovative methods, and perfect craft to bring users a truly exceptional cannabinoid experience.

CBDfx not only combines CBD and CBG but also adds essential nutrients and vitamins to offer users perfect natural wellness support.

They add curcumin, an active turmeric ingredient, to bring you several natural benefits that people have been benefiting from for centuries. Their products offer unmatched quality and excellent safety. They offer the best way to enjoy the natural benefits of CBD and CBG.
