I am a certified product junkie and have at least 10 bottles of hairspray in the cabinet under my sink at any given time. I rotate a lot of them in and out, and I throw more than my fair share into the trash when they turn out to be an utter disappointment. Eventually, I always go back to my favorites. Without further adieu, I give you the 9 go-to hairsprays that never seem to leave my repertoire.

Favorite Hair Sprays
9 Hair Sprays that Actually Work

1. CHI Royal Treatment Ultimate Control Hair Spray

CHI Royal Treatment Ultimate Control Hair Spray is the everyday hair spray that I use at home and in the salon. I love this hair spray because it’s got an average holding power, lots of shine, and delivers great volume. It dries quickly, but not so fast that you can’t work with it for a few moments to get your hair just right. it also makes a great scrunching spray for beach waves that resist humidity without leaving hair too crunchy or dried out.

It’s really a well-rounded hair spray for multiple uses and the scent is amazing.

2. Kenra 25 Volume Spray

Kenra 25 Volume Spray is the go-to hair spray for just about every hairstylist on the planet. Winner of multiple beauty awards, including a 10-time winner of the Hairstylist’s Choice Awards, this hair spray’s reputation speaks out loud for itself. Providing an all-day, fast-drying, stronghold it’s perfect for long-lasting big styles that resist humidity, without getting flaky. I don’t know a single soul that hates this hair spray.

3. Sebastian Re-Shaper Plus

Sebastian Re-Shaper Plus Hair Spray is another classic go-to hair spray that’s loved by hairstylists. This hair spray’s best feature is its ability to disappear when you need it to. The long-lasting, strong holding, humidity-busting, workable spray delivers a great product that easily brushes out of your hair, giving you the ability to change it up or rework your style whenever you want. It’ll also stick around for the long haul when you need hairspray to last all day.

4. Bed Head Masterpiece Massive Shine Hair Spray

I fell in love with this hair spray at first sight. Bed Head Masterpiece is a fun, great smelling, long-lasting, massive shine infusing spray. If your hair is at all dry or damaged, this hair spray not only makes your style stick but gives your dull locks a boost of shine. Masterpiece is a really great scrunching hair spray as it won’t dry your waves out, and it’s one of my favorite hair sprays for updos that don’t get flaky or caked with dull hair spray.

5. Mark Hill Gorgeous! Fabulous Finish Spray

Mark Hill products (available at Walgreens) are a phenomenal line of professional quality products at a price point that won’t break the bank. Mark Hill is Gorgeous! Fabulous Finish Spray is a lightweight micro-fine spray that provides a firm long-lasting hold yet brushes out easily, ensuring your hair looks great, even if you decide to re-work it. It’s one of my favorite drug store hair sprays of all time, and with a Walgreens on every corner, you won’t need to settle and go without great hair spray, ever.

6. Big Sexy Hair Get Layered

One of the newest hair sprays from Big Sexy, Get Layered Hair Spray is truly different than every hair spray on the market. With a unique buildable hold (the more you use, the stronger it gets) coupled with its super-fast drying factor, this hair spray gives your hair definition, texture, and styling options that you only dreamed possible. Even though this product is new, it’s flying off the shelves and really filled a gap in the hair spray market.

7. L’Oreal Elnett Satin Extra Strong

Beloved from the red carpet to the runway, L’Oreal Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hair Spray is a stylist favorite and one of those products that clients can’t help but put a can in their own beauty bags. The micro-fine spray offers a clean, soft shiny finish that’s fine enough to brush out, but strong enough to last all day whether you’re in the office or walking a runway. You’ll find this hair spray on top hair spray lists all over the world wide web.

Don’t doubt the reviews, ladies.

8. Kevin Murphy Session Spray

Kevin Murphy Session Spray’s paraben-free, humidity-resistant formula is excellent for a firm hold that won’t weigh even the finest hair down while UV shields protect your color. You’ll love this hair spray to enhance your curls and help them last all day long. The scent is amazing, and the fine mist makes restyling simple and easy.

9. Oribe Superfine Hair Spray

Step into luxury with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray. This ultra-sheer, medium hold spray is designed to give your flexible, brushable results with shine infusing control that lasts all day long. Superfine is formulated with UV protection and without parabens or sodium chloride, so this hair spray is perfect for color and keratin-treated hair. Natural ingredients like aloe, mango extracts, hydrolyzed wheat protein, pro-vitamin B5, and passionflower extract pack a powerful smoothing, nourishing, thickening, straightening, and moisturizing punch that leaves hair saying, “thank you” with every use.

When you need to feel a little spoiled and your hair needs to move, this is my hair spray of choice. You won’t be disappointed.
