Phuket’s Big Buddha/ The Great Buddha of Phuket

Made from white ‘Burmese marble ‘it is the most treasured piece in Phuket, this status cost almost 30 million to build.
This is a revered cultural landmark and as such those who visit it must respect it and can pray near it. Because some of the primary communities include Buddhists, thus the statue has been added to overlook the town. It is a quiet and serene space for many to practice some meditation, and quiet time with themselves. The only sounds you will hear up top are those of small bells chiming and ‘dharma’ music.

The night market happens on the weekends and in the evenings. The locals refer to it as ‘Nasa Market’ and is a short distance from the town.
