Oxy Clinical is a new line of acne products that you can find at the drugstore. You can purchase a 3-piece kit or each product individually. When purchased as a kit, the products are smaller in size than purchased individually. The kit currently sells for $11.

The active ingredients in Oxy Clinical are salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, both known acne fighting ingredients common in acne products. (Proactiv’s active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide.) See what our reviewer, a 30-year old woman struggling with acne, thought and what results she got.

Oxy Clinical: Advanced Face Wash

Oxy Clinical’s Advanced Face Wash, according to Oxy, enables the active ingredient, salicylic acid to remain on your face after it’s rinsed off, treating your acne all day. They call it “Acne Shield.”

Our reviewer, Jesy, enjoyed this face wash. She said the size that came in the kit was 2 ounces and lasted a full month. The cleanser is a white, watered-down lotion consistency that bubbles up with water.

She noted a bit of a medicated smell, but not overpowering. She notes that you only need a tiny bit for your entire face. Active ingredient: 2% Salicylic Acid.

The cleanser sold alone is $8 for 5.1 ounces or is available in the 3-piece kit.

Oxy Clinical: Hydrating Therapy

Oxy Clinical’s Hydrating Therapy is a 3-in-1 product that exfoliates with .5% salicylic acid, hydrates your skin while controlling the oil production throughout the day. If you have acne issues, you know that you should moisturize, but you also probably know that during the day your face will product more oil than you’d like, thus maybe making you less likely to moisturize. This product will help with that.

Jesy describes this product as really watered down, almost clear liquid. Think serum. She also noted that it does have a noticeable medicinal smell to it. She uses this morning and night, after cleansing with the Advanced Facial Cleanser. Jesy absolutely noticed less oily skin throughout the day.

The moisturizer sold alone is currently $8 for 2 ounces of product. The size that comes in the 3-piece kit is 0.7 ounces.

Oxy Clinical: Clearing Treatment

The clearing treatment is Oxy Clinical’s acne treatment product. This is the product that you’ll notice the biggest results with. According to Oxy, the Clearing Treatment kills 99% acne bacteria within 8 hours. It’s active ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide. Jesy has sensitive skin, and this was a bit harsh on her skin. She wasn’t able to use it daily because it caused her skin to feel a burning sensation. She reduced her usage to 2 times a week and was able to continue at that pace.

When reading other reviews, I read that people did feel this product dried out their skin, leaving it feeling fragile. My suggestion is to see how your skin reacts and adjust. There are many degrees of acne severity, and if you fall in the mild to mid-range, you may get away with using this once a day, or even every other day. Other’s who just have minor acne could try using this as a spot treatment alone.

Jesy said that the she has severe acne along her jaw line and within days of beginning this product, she had much less acne.

Purchased separately, you’ll get 1.25 ounces for $8, and in the kit 0.7 oz. Jesy noted that it smells like most acne medicine, but it didn’t bother her.

Oxy Clinical: Final Thoughts

Jesy loves the results that she got from using Oxy Clinical. She received the kit to use, and with twice-daily usage, the products lasted her a full month. All for $11!

She has tried many acne product lines before but this is the first time that she’s actually gone out and repurchased the products again. She highly recommends them. Her oil production has gone down, her acne has improved and she really enjoys being able to afford these products and pick them up at the drugstore. She also noted that it was great that they were small bottles that didn’t take up a lot of drawer or counter space in her bathroom.

And while the Clearing Treatment has been a little harsh on her skin, it has provided much help, so she’s happy to reduce the number of treatments per week to get the results she’s getting.
