How can you properly show off your Kardashian contouring when your makeup is smudged and melting down your face? It’s important to know how to apply your makeup properly, but it is just as important to figure out how to keep it on. So, how do you ensure your makeup lasts all day? Do you have one tried-and-true primer? Do you layer products or look for waterproof formulas?

Overall my skin is oily, so it is a battle to get my makeup to last from morning to night without it melting off my face around midday. For my face, I always start with a primer, like Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Then I’ll apply my foundation and concealer and finish that with a translucent powder. If I’m wearing eyeshadow, I’ll use a specific eye primer such as Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion over my lids. Sometimes I’ll add a bit of concealer over top of the primer before I apply the shadow.
