We’re on the hunt for the best lipstick shade, brand, formula, and/or style ever. Which is your favorite?
First, there was Ruby Woo. Then, there was Russian Red. Eventually came Fiery, but now I’m onto Scarlett. While it may sound like I’m reading off a laundry list of attractive women who only went by their showgirl stage names, you may have guessed that these are simply my favorite lipstick colors. The first two are by MAC, the third is by Stila, and the last is by Dolce&Gabbana. All are amazing, but right now, I’m hardcore obsessed with the last one (as well as all that blue lipstick I’ve been wearing lately).
Even if people can be total jerks about women who wear lipstick, it is still the #1 staple in many beauty routines. Whether you’re a lover of all things neutral and nude, the kind of lady who enjoys bubblegum pink, or are simply fond of metallic purple shades; your favorite lipstick is what you reach for when you wake up feeling “meh” about everything. Just pop it on, add some mascara, and voila! You’re good to go that day.
Even though I’ve been digging the unconventional shades of purple, blue, and sparkly red, my go-to color is the aforementioned D&G Classic Cream Lipstick in Scarlett. Something about the way it feels and looks on my lips just seems…right. It’s smooth and creamy without being slippery or (heaven forbid) sticky.
It’s a true red shade that works with pale ladies like myself and darker complexions alike. Plus, it smells amazing, which is an odd thing to compliment a lip product on after the age of 12 when you were really into Smackers’ soda pop flavors. All in all, it just feels like the type of lipstick that I always wanted to wear while growing up: striking, sophisticated, confident, smooth.
So, which is your favorite lipstick ever? Tell us in the comments!
