Forget about bushy Cara Delevingne brows; there’s a new, more colorful eyebrow trend. Badgley Mischka sent models down the runway at their New York Fashion Week show with brightly-colored eyebrows. They weren’t content with the natural brown, blonde, red, and black shades; they wanted deep pink and periwinkle blue.
There are always a few crazy beauty trends to emerge at fashion week to complement the completely impractical for real life clothes. However, brightly-colored brows probably weren’t something many of us would have expected. Blue lipstick, sure. Blue brows? Surprising. What shouldn’t surprise you is that brow queen Cara has already tried blue eyebrows, so perhaps she is the inspiration for a totally new eyebrow trend?
For some reason, I think the subtle pink brows are quite pretty. Perhaps it is because they match the lip balm and subtle hair chalk streaks. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a monochromatic look. However, I don’t see this trend translating from runway to real life. Though, I did say the same thing about crop tops, and look how wrong I was there. I can picture some street-style star rocking green brows. I also think crazy-colored eyebrows would be cool at some 90s rave warehouse party. I don’t think they would ever be office-appropriate unless you work as a clown.
If you’re willing to try the rainbow brow trend, you’ll probably have to resort to using eyeliner as opposed to trying to find a brow pencil in Smurf blue. It’s likely that some clever beauty brand will probably realize that there is a hole in the market and start developing rainbow liners ASAP. The only thing you have to decide is what color are you going to go for? Anyone else for lilac?
