Sunset Hair Might Just Be the Prettiest Hair Color Trend We've Seen So Far

It seems like every time we turn around, there’s a new emerging hair color trend that’s trying to steal our attention. We’ve had rainbow rootsgold leaf hair, and galaxy hair, and all of those almost pale in comparison to the newest look: sunset hair.

Fall is the prettiest season of the year, in my opinion, so it seems right that such a gorgeous hair color trend would come along around now. As far as the process to achieve the right colors, it seems to be a combination of standard ombre methods, techniques that achieved the popular opal hair trend from a few months ago, and a good sunset reference photo. As far as colors, since every sunset is different, people can take inspiration from just about anything. The most popular colors seem to be bright pinks, oranges, and purples, with a few dusty purple and blue versions, sprinkled in, too. Take a look:

And if you’re one of those skeptics out there who has somehow convinced yourself that this hair trend doesn’t look like an actual sunset, let this video convince you. If that’s not a sunset on someone’s head, I don’t know what is.

How do you dye your hair a sunset color?

Personally, I’m loving that people are so willing to try out such bright colors and experiment with all of these emerging hair trends. I can safely say that I would never rock one of these looks simply because I’m too nervous to even cut more than an inch or two off my hair every couple of months (a.k.a. maintain my hair like a normal human person), but I admire everyone that does. Plus, it’s a welcome addition to the world of pastel locks and subtle rainbow ombres.

Would you consider trying out sunset hair? What colors would you use? Tell us in the comments!
