The changing seasons can wreak havoc on your skin. Here are six easy recipes for beautifying DIY face masks with all-natural ingredients to make at home.

Whenever the seasons shift, my skin always goes a little bit crazy. Just as it’s getting used to the summer heat and humidity, the fall winds kick in, and all of a sudden, I’m all patchy. In a few months, it’ll start getting really cold, and first I’ll break out really badly, then my skin will get so dry it cracks. This year, I plan to be ready with some DIY masks to smoosh on my face.

I always mean to use face masks more often. Something just feels right about holding still and imagining nutritious goodness seeping into your skin. But I just hate the time it takes. (I also hate sitting still for manicures.)

But this year, my Labor Day resolution is to actually make an effort at keeping my skin nicely conditioned and healthy, even during the seasonal changes. So I’m just going to have to suck it up and deal with sitting still with goop on my face for a few minutes.

I’ve also been meaning to try more natural face mask solutions because store-bought ones always make my skin feel a little tight, even the moisturizing ones. So here are five awesome, beautifying DIY face masks to help get your skin ready for fall:

1. Easy DIY face mask for glowing skin.

This one just has three ingredients: Olive oil, honey, and baking soda. She promises it even helps neutralize redness and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

2. DIY Oil-free avocado face mask.

I love avocados, but they rarely stick around my house uneaten long enough to use as a mask. This one has just lemon juice, avocado, and egg white to moisturize without making things too oily.

3. DIY honey lemon facial mask.

If you don’t have spots to fight, this mask also is delicious in tea.

4. Milk and Honey facial mask.

How luxurious does this sound? I’m going to put this one on and pretend I’m Cleopatra. And the music in this video is so mellow it’s almost like being in an actual spa.

5. Egg mask facial.

Phan says this egg white mask helps control oil. You can also save the yolks for homemade mayonnaise.

6. DIY Moisturizing face mask.

For those of us with really dry skin, this one could come very in handy to help prevent the dry, peeling skin around the nose.
