Most popular yeezys

The glitz and flamboyance of Kanye West are stamped in all Yeezy shoes ever dropped on this planet. The American rapper made sure of that. His foresight and exuberance made Yeezys one of the most sought-after luxury sneakers of all time.

The hype and buildup of these famed sneakers are attributed to the limited drops made by Adidas during the initial stages of their release. People camping in the cold outside the stores just to get their hands on these valuable sneakers are real and documented on social media.

But What Exactly Is A Yeezy?

Yeezy is a product line from German sports powerhouse Adidas, collaborating with American rapper Kanye West. The collaboration comprises products ranging from sneakers, slides, track pants, jackets, socks, slippers, and shirts.

Kanye West chose the name Yeezy as this was inspired by his mentor Jay-Z’s moniker J-Hov, a name derived from Jehovah, which is the Hebrew name of God. Yeezy is short for Yeezus; a word derived from Jesus as many believe he thinks he is the high-level God of rap.

And why not? Kanye received 24 Grammys and was nominated 75 times. If that isn’t rap supremacy, what is?  Kanye’s 6th studio album released in 2013 is titled Yeezus, while the ‘eezy’ at the end is a typical hip-hop nickname trend.

In 2023, Yeezys are making a comeback, and you can explore Yeezy slides in Australia to check out the styles you can add to your collection. To give you an idea, here are the iconic Yeezys you can still buy in 2023:

Which Yeezy is the most popular?
  1. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Blue Tint

Initially released in 2017, this iconic Yeezy takes after the renowned Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Zebra. Like the Zebra, it’s decorated with the trademark bright red SPLY-350 text. The text SPLY is still a mystery to this day, but many suspects it means ‘supply,’ while others theorize that it means Saint Pablo Loves You.

The comfy sneakers are light-grey on the side with a semi-translucent Boost sole to add cushioning and support.

Boost is a revolutionary performance shoe technology released by Adidas in 2013. It’s a research product of the AIT or Adidas innovation team and German chemists BASF. It has a midsole made from thousands of expanded particles that make every stride bounce comfortably.

  1. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Oreo

This is the first reappearance of this Yeezy since its launch in 2016.

Constructed with comfort and function in mind, this Yeezy has prime knit material in black weave, riddled with subtle specks. The trademark SPLY350 text is written in bold over a white stripe.

The Oreo’s classic outline and style can match a more conservative personality yet may challenge an equally exuberant character to jazz up their wardrobe while wearing this.

  1. Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner

Reminiscent of 90s New York’s streetwear aesthetic, this Yeezy is captioned as the best Yeezy ever made but made many heads shake because of hate at the same time.

Dubbed as a Yeezy with a chunky dad shoe silhouette, the Wave Runner received a lot of distaste from fans but soon turned around when many saw that prominent brands tried to copy it and make their versions.

The Wave Runner has a grey mesh with a partial leather upper, black suede overlay, and teal mesh underlays. The look of the Yeezy is finished with the odd addition of orange lines in a white sole.

  1.  Adidas Yeezy Slide Ochre

Famous for its comfort and functionality, the Yeezy slide has a soft footbed with groove treads on the sole, providing an anti-slip advantage, which is great for kids. This particular model comes in styles for adults, kids, and infants.

The slide uses EVA or ethylene-vinyl acetate foam to make a lightweight but durable slide. The slides come in two monochromatic colors: pure and ochre, the ochre being a favorite of many as it was featured on a lot of popular sneakers sites

  1. Adidas Yeezy 500 Blush

Debuted in 2017, the kicks feature a combination of mesh and suede construction and adiprene soles for added protection and cushioning. Adiprene is another revolutionary shoe technology pioneered by Adidas. The technology features the use of elastic materials that respond to your feet’s movement. It absorbs impact, which makes the shoes best to use for hiking and running.

In 2019, Yeezys, without a surprise, gained sales of USD 1.3 billion. Kanye’s popularity and influence are irrefutable. He may be a rapper and a hip-hop star to many, but to himself, he is a designer first, with a portfolio enough to gain him access to both Paris and New York Fashion Weeks.
