You may currently be curating your Spring/Summer 2022 looks but in February this year, top brands from across the globe already displayed their latest Fall/Winter 2022 looks, complete with the hot accessories and jewelry to watch out for. Of course, when it comes to jewelry, many pieces can be worn regardless of the season. However, colors and styles can vary considerably depending on which ensembles they are part of. If you like to think ahead and plan your looks for the rest of the year, check out the following Fall/Winter 2022, as shown off by top designers at New York Fashion Week.

Boho-Chic Statement Pieces

Designers like Ulla Johnson and Brandon Maxwell embraced the boho-chic passion for nature-inspired jewelry, with extra-large pieces that represented flowers and plants in a show-stopping manner. Ulla Johnson, for instance, featured models wearing super long earrings featuring a statement central flower (think a sunflower) with delicate “stems” and “leaves” climbing down to the décolletage. Brandon Maxwell, meanwhile, brought a little metallic beauty to its otherwise serious winter looks, with bracelets featuring vintage roses made in delightful pewter/silver hues. Carolina Herrera, meanwhile, graced its models’ fingers with large flowers in the same color and species as those featured on its vividly printed material.

The Return of the Choker

Luxury brands like Versace, Coach, and Blumarine celebrated the return of wide 90s choker necklaces, in styles ranging from classical (think diamonds and pearls) to punk rock (complete with chains). One of the hottest trends is that of flower chokers, one of the finest exponents of which is Prabal Gurung’s Resort 2022 collection. Expect your local fashion jewelry stores to be selling floral and other clips that can be easily attached to a choker, so you can change your look frequently to match the colors and styles you adopt from day to day.

Silver and White Gold Are Back

Yellow and rose gold have been highly covered over the past few years, but this year, silver, white gold, and platinum looks will be making a comeback. Check out Ermanno Scervino’s thick choker chain (with padlock included), or Feben’s long dangling silver statement earrings. White gold will be a top choice for personalized engagement rings as well. A fine example is Monique Lhuillier’s petal pavé diamond engagement ring, which marries a large flower-shaped central diamond with a delicately widening pavé engagement band. If you love yellow and rose gold, the good news is that they are still in vogue too. Mixed metals are another hot trend. Think a central, diamond-shaped sparkler supported by white gold prongs and attached to a sophisticated rose gold pavé band.

Textured Hoops

Large hoop earrings were seen frequently at New York Fashion Week in February, with models for LaQuan Smith, Jill Sander, and Missoni all sporting hoops in a variety of different textures. The latter included rhinestone-studded, ceramic/resin, and shaped metal. Once again, nature held sway, with some of the most beautiful hoops bearing leaf and floral patterns.

Now is a great time to start curating your Fall/Winter 2022 jewelry collection. Statement pieces are what it’s all about, with XL-sized earrings that start at the ear and reach the décolletage. Chokers, silver/white gold pieces, and colorful hoops in a wide array of textures will also be big on Instagram and on the streets of your favorite city.
